Kaytee Ankrom is a PhD student in the Biology department focused in Botany. Her current project is on plant parasite response to different water availability in grassland ecosystems as part of a NSF-funded research grant. Kaytee is particularly interested in nematodes as bioindicators of soil health and how genus data may be used to extrapolate a system’s response to climate change.

Her favorite soil organism is Paratylenchus neoamblycephalus, the pin nematode.
